Mahalia Jackson Singing If I Can Help Somebody

I head this song on a video that a friend put
together upon the loss of a loved one. I
immediately recognized Mahalia Jaskson's
voice and had to find the sound track.

Here's a copy posted to YouTube.

It in many ways expresses why I do what
I do online and offline.

Here's the song:

Where And How I Set Up Joint Ventures

Just dropping you a quick note from Armand Morin's Big
Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia.

Armand and I have been friends since late 2003 when we
met at Dr. Bob Silber's seminar in the Florida Keys. He
spoke at the first seminar that I hosted, which was just
4 months after attending my very first seminar.

As you can see, I don't spend a lot of time agonizing
over a decision after making it. I attended my first
seminar, decided to host my own, emailed a few friend,
and four months later... did it.

That first seminar was a bit of a challenge, but being
a seminar host was one of those creditential that I
wanted at the time... so I quickly figured it out. I
wrote about the challenges of that first seminar in my
biography, "Git Off The Porch," which you'll find at
http://GitOffThePorch.com :-)

Back to the seminar I'm at now...

I attended primarily because I wanted to catch up with
a lot of old friends, and also iron out the details of
two projects with joint venture partners.

As I milled around in the bar/restaurant last night
the one question that I got was "what are you working
on now?" That naturally led to whoever I was talking
to sharing the details of their latest project with me.

As I reflected upon the joint ventures that I've taken
on over the past two YEARS, practically ALL of them have
been with members of The Internet Marketing Inner Circle.
I pointed this out to several people last night, and they
went over to join the site.

The Internet Marketing Inner Circle is at:
http://TIMIC.ORG

Reflecting upon how I now do joint ventures drove home
a number of important points... points that I frequently
teach, but that I also live.

1) I tend to prefer JV'ing with people that I actually
know. Since I spend HOURS some days brainstorming and
networking on the member-only focus at The Internet
Marketing Inner Circle, it's only natural that that's
where I'd find most of my JV partners.

Members of TIMIC are encouraged to use their real
names on the forum, and I teach those who will listen
that they should NOT do business with people who hide.
Would you go into an offline partnership with
someone who refused to tell you who they were? I harp
on this point, and teach what experience has taught me
works best in growing your online business on the forum.

The forum is actually where I do MOST of my online
teaching. Since it is such a caring and sharing
community, I enjoy helping fellow members out.

2) I tend to prefer promoting products for people who
reciprocate. They don't have to have a huge list, or
busy website, or be well-know... they just need to
acknowledge that I have "pet projects" too, and
approach me from that angle.

3) I like working on group projects since it's usually
easier to launch a project by leveraging the assets
of many rather than just depending upon your own
resources. In TIMIC we're actually in the process
of writing another group ebook... one that will feature
short chapters from 100 members.

Anyway, I DO highly encourage you to join TIMIC. It's
my online family... and "family takes care of each
other" :-)

I'll close by pointing out to you a free gift from
Dan Kennedy plus a chance to earn $5174 in his materials.
Dan is my favorite marketing "guru" and I own a HUGE
library of his materials. It has paid off handsomely.

Go register for a change to win a collection of
his course at: http://TheRealSecrets.com/dk/

Be on the lookout for photos from Big Seminar on my
blog. I take a lot of pictures at these events.

The Best Product Launch Formula Bonus

Product Launch Madness And Bonuses That Make Sense
Copyright 2008 by Willie Crawford

Back in early 2006, Jeff Walker launched a course called
Product Launch Formula. Product Launch Formula taught
a very detailed, step-by-step approach to launching any
product via the internet.

Jeff even provided case studies that showed how to use
his Product Launch Formula to treat a major affiliate
promotion campaign like a product launch.

Product Launch Formula taught a proven method of launching
a product, and in the process, convinced several THOUSAND
aspiring entrepreneurs that the time was finally right for
them to launch their product.

The only problem was that many of them decided to release
products all at the same time. Another problem was that
many of the product launches were in the "Internet marketing
niche" where many people launching products were seeking
joint venture with the SAME pool of super affiliates.

This triggered an interesting phenomena where super
affiliates were shown a plethora of absolutely incredible
products... many of which the same "100 super affiliate" all
chose to promote at the same time.

This triggered wave after wave of many of the super affiliates
promoting the same product packages during well orchestrated
launches. As soon as one of these well-orchestrated launches
was over with, the next one kicked off.

The thing is, there really were a lot of great product
being released. There were more great products being offered
to the same core group of customers than they could possibly
purchase AND digest... because it was coming at them so fast.

As the competition really heated up, and the market began
to tune all of the emails, something interesting happened.

Since many of these products really did solve a painful
problem in the marketplace, and since many people were on
multiple lists, and got pitched on the same product by dozens
of marketers... all on the same day, the distinguishing factors
soon became the bonuses that the affiliates were offering.

When any product launch has so many super affiliates promoting
the same product launch to the same customers, the product
becomes such a "commodity" that the bonuses become what
determines which marketer get the sale.

Soon, we had the "product launch bonus wars." Each launch soon
became a contest to see who could get the most creative, and
who could offer the most enticing bonus.. the bonus with the
highest perceived value.

It was at this point that many super affiliates began to do
their customers a big DISSERVICE. They began offering product
launch bonuses that made no sense. They began offering product
launch bonuses that distracted the customers too much, and kept
the customer from even having time to use the primary product.

Some offered such huge bundles of "fluff" that their customers
would read a mile long page describing their bonuses, be
convinced that something in that long list was something that
they needed, and grab the package just for that bonus. Often,
those customers soon discovered that they'd never use the
bonuses, and then they were STUCK with a bunch of useless
clutter!

The criteria that conscientious affiliate marketers should use
is to offer bonuses that help a customer to get the most use
out of a product. The bonus shouldn't distract them so much
that they never even find the time to take the primary product
out of its shrink wrap.

In my opinion, selling someone something and then overwhelming
them with bonuses that keep them from using the primary
product is totally WRONG!

I believe this so much that when I noticed Jeff Walker
preparing for a launch of version 2 of his Product Launch
Formula
, after confirming that it really is one of the most
useful products that many of my clients needed, I had to ask
myself, "If I recommend this to my clients, how do I help them
to actually USE the product?"

I think that is a very logical approach to deciding what bonuses
to offer with any product.

Don't you?

For example, I acknowledged that anyone getting Jeff Walker's
Product Launch Formula 2.0
would likely be planning on doing
a product launch. If they are marketing online, they likely need
help in planning that launch, getting joint venture partners,
and publicizing their launch.

So, my "ideal" bonus for Product Launch Formula 2.0 evolved to:

1) A "solo" email, promoting only their product, sent to a list
of 120,000 subscribers.

2) A live 2-day seminar where they are taught many of the things
that they need to know to both launch their product and to
continue building and running a successful online business.

3) At least 2 hours one one-on-one consulting.

So, that's what I bundled as my bonus for Jeff Walker's Product
Launch Formula 2.0. My thinking was also that the live seminar
would put... as many as... several hundred ideal JV partners in
the same room.

My challenge issued to all affiliates promoting product launches
is to offer bonuses that actually help the customer use the
primary product and benefit from that purchase. My challenge
issued to potential customers contemplating buying ANY big
ticket item in particular is to look for bonuses that actually
help you to use the product.

Buying a product just for a bunch of bonuses that you'll never
use is generally illogical. Buying a product that comes with a
bunch of product launch bonuses that distract and detract from
the primary product is counter-productive. Offering your
customers bonuses during product launches that are inconsistent
with getting the most use out of that product is
unconscionable.

So there you have my opinion on "product launch madness and
bonuses that make sense." If you're serious about your business
growth, I encourage you to give what I've just shared with you
some deep though.

Soul searching and intuition are good things :-)

Willie Crawford On Time Management

From Willie's newsletter earlier today....

Good morning,

I started my day as usual, running down a short
checklist of things to do first. In case you're interested,
that list included:

- Check my helpdesk for unanswered tickets
- Check The Internet Marketing Inner Circle for new posts
and PMs
- Glance at my email
- Read for 1 hour
- Write for 1 hour
- Review my prioritized to-do list

That's the short checklist that I've already run through
today and I thought that by expanding upon the WHY those
things are on my list would be instructive.

------------

First, I check my helpdesk. It's the nerve center of my
entire operation since it's where customers and my assistants
communicate with me, and where I get a snapshot of what's
going on.

My helpdesk is at: http://WillieCrawford.com/helpdesk/

It's powered by the software that you can get for under $100
at: http://ThreePillarsHelpDesk.com

I have my helpdesk configured so that when a help ticket is
posted, ONLY the person who is responsible for that category,
can see that ticket when logging in as admin, AND when someone
posts a ticket to that category, that admin gets a desktop and
email notification.

I have my helpdesk configured so that certain categories are
used ONLY for my staff and I to communicate back and forth.

Since email is so unreliable, my helpdesk is THE center of
my business. It's where threaded conversations between me,
assistants, customers, JV partners, and clients are securely
stored and processed.

Today, I logged in, and in about 10 minutes got a feel for
all that had transpired in the last 24 hours, and also got a
reassurance that no customer support issues were festering just
beneath the surface. In 20 minutes, I did what use to take
me several hours.

-------------

I glance at my email, first skimming the "from" field, and
then skimming the "subject" field. That's how many of my
associates scan their email too. That's why it IS important
that your email clearly identify you. The subject should also
be VERY clear, because what I did next was select and delete
90% of the email in my inbox.

My helpdesk allowed me to know that important communications
were more likely to make it to me. It also gave me greater
confidence that I could delete MOST email without worrying
about missing something.

That takes us back to the importance of your email subject.
It should clearly state what the email is about. If it doesn't
there's a good chance that someone getting hundreds or
thousands of emails per day WILL delete your email unread.

I should add that I "mass delete" most email because it is
necessary for survival. I force myself to only "handle" each
correspondence once. So, when I first open an email, I
decide what to do with it, and often then write that action
right into my calendar.

If you get any volume of email and you have the habit
of saving it all out of fear of missing something, I assure
you that if you don't have the time to read it now, you're
very unlikely to have more time to read it later (as more
and more of it piles up in your inbox).

------------

Next I logged into the member-only forum of The Internet
Marketing Inner Circle. That forum is actually a nerve
center for my business and a lot of others. Right on that
forum, at this very moment, several projects that I'm a
part of are being coordinated.

-- We're coordinating an ebook where 100 members will share
how they earned their first $100 online. This group project
will inspire many, get the names of the 100 contributors
publicized, and earn money for affiliates who help to market
that ebook.

Incidentally, if you want to participate in that project, you
CAN. You do need to be a member of TIMIC. You can join at:

http://TIMIC.ORG

-- We are coordinating a group ezine that we're determined
to make one of the highest quality ezines on the face of
the planet. The ezine will be 99.9% content, and I'll tell
you more about that later.

-- Various pockets of people are jointly creating and
marketing ebooks, software, membership sites, free giveaways,
services... and just about anything that you can imagine.
I provide inputs on many of these projects, or even tie them
into other projects.

One of the things that I teach is that the easiest way to
launch a project is to tap into the energy... or momentum...
of an already successful project. That is, launch a new
project by making it a backend or upsell product to something
already getting lots of traffic from buying customers.

So, every day, I log into the TIMIC Forum at largely
pre-planned times. I plan those times because otherwise I
could easily lose control of my time.

I do also visit a few other forums, but those are during odd
times... perhaps while I'm listening to a teleseminar, or
on hold while making a phone call.

I DO get lots of gems from my time spent on other forums too,
although NOTHING compares to the quality of interaction that
I get from the TIMIC Forum.

------------

I set aside an hour for reading early each morning. That hour
is spent reading the next document that I ABSOLUTELY must get
off of my desk!

It can be an ebook, a software license, a JV agreement, or
some offline publication. I just set aside that time because
in that one hour, I get more read than I would in a day of
reading while doing other things.

This morning, I read an ebook on social networking that is the
best one that I've read to date. I read it because I was asked
to write the forward to it. That turned out to be an excellent
use of my time as this ebook is destined to become a reference
guide on the topic.

I also reviewed a JV agreement that I needed to get back to
a JV partner. JV agreements can be tricky because they need
to cover a LOT of things that most people probably never
consider. You need to cover such topics as... what happens if
the JV doesn't go as expected... or if one of you disappears for
a few MONTHS.

--------------

I set aside an hour for writing. This time was spent writing
and editing 3 articles that should be very well-received. When
I don't set aside time to really focus on my writing, it often
shows :-)

So, this morning I finished polishing all three articles, and
they are now ready for publication.

----------------

Next, I turned to my "to do" list and identified what on the
list I really should do next. I looked for things that REALLY
needed doing, and that it made sense for me to do, rather than
outsource.

I also looked for one or two things that would take very little
time to finish off, so that I could get the pleasure of quickly
finishing those things, and then mark them DONE!

-------------------

So that's how I started my day. In the process I also reviewed
my plans for the rest of the day, and for the next week. Part of
that plan includes a trip out to Las Vegas this weekend where
I'll be speaking at Ross Goldberg's seminar.

Looking at that caused me add reviewing my presentation, and
perhaps dry-running it to my schedule. Although I must confess
that often when I speak at seminars, I don't finish writing the
presentation until the night before... or sometimes the day of.

Seminar speakers often use the excuse of "we wanted to get a
feel for the audience before finalizing the presentation." The
reality is that many of us are masters at procrastination.

That brings me to one other thing that continuously surprises
me about human nature. When we put off things that we image
will be difficult, we are often shocked by how simple and easy
they were to do once we actually sit down and do them.

That's why I do have a morning routine.

I once listened to an interview between Dan Kennedy and Robert
Ringer. The discussed waiting for inspiration to strike, and
they both agreed that for them it was often a matter of just
sitting down and getting started (they were speaking of writing).
It's evolved to that point for me too... after I start writing
the words just flow.

By the way, here's a link to check out Ross' seminar:
http://www.mastersseminar.com/?rid=5

It's inexpensive, hotel rooms in Vegas are CHEAP, and I'd be
honored to see you there. Bring lots of business cards, a
digital camera, and a jacket
:-)

Twentyfive Days To Make A Difference

Meet Laura and Her Pet Project - Twenty Five Days To Make A Difference

She is maintaining a blog this holiday season entitled

EXCELLENT Advice On Buying A New Computer

Computer Secrets Unleashed!

My friend Paul recently told me that he was ready
to replace his ANCIENT computer system. He explained
to me that he only really used it for email and
surfing the net.

Paul knows that I run an Internet-based business and
ASSUMED that I could advise him on the best computer
system to buy.

The reality is that the last time I bought a computer,
I walked into Circuit City, and more or less picked
a laptop at random.

So rather than pretend that I had a clue about the
best options in computers for my friend, I asked the
experts hanging out at The Internet Marketing Warriors.

I got a LOT of recommendations for Dell, the Mac
loyalist came out in force, and it seems few people
like Vista :-)

I also discoverd all of the answers I needed in this
ebook...

Computer-Secrets-Unleashed-small.jpg

Computer Secrets Unleashed.
http://TheRealSecrets.com/ComputerSecrets/

Now, I'm armed to help my friend get the absolute
best deal on a computer, and to get it set up properly
once he gets it. Not only that, after reading this
ebook... actually 3 different ebooks in a series,
I can actually BE an authority on buying and setting
up a computer.

I've finally learned, when you don't know... ASK :-)

‘Average’ People To Show Other ‘Average’ People How To Make $100 Daily Online While Working Part-Time From Their Homes

NAVARRE, FLORIDA (SEPT. 21, 2007) — History will be made Oct. 8, when “average” people from all corners of the globe introduce other “average” people to the profitable world of part-time Internet Marketing.

“Millions of people dream about supplementing their income part-time from home but don’t have a clear idea on how to get started or a realistic sense of what’s possible,” said Willie Crawford, founder of The Internet Marketing Inner Circle (TIMIC).

“Our one-of-a-kind information product was created by ‘ordinary’ TIMIC members to show other ‘ordinary’ people how to achieve a goal of making $100 a day working online part-time,” Crawford said. “It’s a way for average people to give themselves a pay raise of $36,500.”

More details, including the website name TIMIC has chosen for the venture, will be released in the coming days.

Crawford is one of the most recognizable faces in Internet Marketing and has gained an international reputation as a mentor and speaker. From humble beginnings on a small North Carolina tobacco farm, Willie graduated from North Carolina State University and was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Crawford turned to the Internet in 1996 to supplement his military wages, turning his initial foray into a full-time business.

His biography — “Git Off The Porch” — inspired an entire generation of full- and part-time Internet Marketers.

“Many people aren’t aware that skills and interests they already have can translate into a sustainable part-time income that can make a real difference in their lives,” Crawford said.

“Each chapter in our forthcoming eBook was written by an ‘ordinary’ person who makes money by applying ‘ordinary’ skills that relate to their interests,” Crawford said. “That’s what’s makes this product truly extraordinary.”

Helping manage the venture is Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian, a highly successful Internet Marketer who happens also to have a full-time job: pediatric cardiac surgeon in Madras, India.

Dr. Mani said the venture covers a range of part-time marketing interests, including eBay, infoproduct creation, writing articles, providing services, participating in Affiliate programs and much, much more.

It’s “win-win,” Dr. Mani said.

TIMIC will issue an updated News Release and announce the website name next week. # # #

Herb Detox Diets: Detoxing Your Blood

Herb Detox Diets: Detoxing Your Blood!
By Beverley Brooke

Do you know that the most effective detox diets are based on
Herbs and supplements? The presence of toxic substances has
been shown to be the root cause of most diseases and getting
rid of these toxins in our body system is bound to ensure long
lasting health. Technology. We live in a grand time of
technological development. Computers the Internet/ cell phones/
digital cameras and DVDs. But the human body has not 'kept up'
with technology. Experts agree that it's not good to try and
loose excess weight in a quick manner. It's better to take your
time and incorporate a package of exercise.

Detoxification is unarguably very important for a long lasting
health. There are several ways to achieve detoxification of the
system some depend on the type of chemicals we are attempting to
rid the body of while others have a general effect. Sometimes
these side-effects are enough to put people off a detox program
but often the worse the reaction the more pertinent the detox is
for the body. If you are truly sick the symptoms above feel
awful as time progresses. The symptoms are more than transient
and more than mild.

When lotion is applied to the skin these chemicals are also
absorbed through the skin. These and many other toxins are
floating around in our blood streams stored in our fat clogging
up our livers and causing problems with our elimination
(resulting in constipation or diarrhea). Those ready for an
intermediate detox can do a 21 day whole body cleanse with the
Internal Cleansing Kit by Blessed Herbs. It contains herbs that
detoxify all the body's organs of elimination and toxic
substances. Hair analysis is perhaps the best method for
analyzing the presence and amount of toxins in the body this is
because the protein in the hair fiber tends to retain the
composition of the body tissue for a longer period of time.

Emotional RET Remedies: These wonderful homeopathic/flower
essence combinations were developed by Professional Health
Formulations to help with the emotional aspects of physical
symptoms within the body. The most important organ you should
consider when thinking about starting a detox diet is your
liver and how it will thank you dearly after. A detox diet plan
is not aimed at weight loss. See more at
http://www.diet-detox.info/SOP/Natural_Detox_Diet_Bodies.html

slow down on the program and start again very gradually. Some
people prefer their tea hot and some cold and some like sun tea
once again it doesn't matter. Use the process allow the body to
come into balance start to assimilate the nutrients it requires
and watch your health improve. You only need to do your research
and there will be lots of detoxification procedures to choose
from however it is always advisable to see your physician to be
sure of what toxins constitute risk to your health and perhaps
the best method to get rid of these.

American Diet - More Processed Foods, Less Natural Foods

American Diet - More Processed Foods, Less Natural Foods
The impact of refinement and food processing is a
nutritionally poor diet.

Changes in our food habits took place over history, more so
in the past 100 years. Processing has now become wide
spread. It's a sign of changing times and economic
prosperity as Americans look for more and more foods that
are quick and easy, and minimize the needs for home
cooking. Many traditional and time tried balanced and
health food habits were lost. Organ meats have taken a back
seat to muscle meats that are relatively lower in several
minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids. After the
domestication of wild animals, changes have occurred
through breading and feeding. Commercialization of a
limited range of stocks results in limitations in
diversity, quantity, and quality of fats in animal foods.
This implies a reduction in the essential fats and the
possible increase in saturated fats.

The way the American food industry is set up, all foods
undergo more processing than foods in other parts of the
world, which strips the nutrients and dissociates food from
its natural state. The dependence on canned and preserved
foods is high, which results in nutritionally inferior
foods.

For example, canned tomatoes and tomato puree will not
contain as many phytonutrients and vitamin C as a regular,
fresh tomato.

Processing brings about changes in the fat, mineral, and
vitamin content of foods as well introducing into our food
supply many substances foreign to our human body chemistry.
Shortsighted farming methods deplete soils of minerals,
decreasing the mineral content of the foods grown in these
soils. The entire process ranging from cultivation,
transport, storage, and processing can a heavy nutritional
toll on the vitamin and mineral content of the agricultural
products.

As Americans, we should rely on canned and processed foods
once in a while, not all the time. It's important to eat a
diet rich in natural, organic foods that are free from any
type of processing or refinement. This ensures that we
obtain the maximum nutritional value from food.

Remember, processing is good for the profit margins of the
food industry, but is not necessarily the best choice for
the food consumer. Processed food is generally higher in
sodium, lower in vitamins and minerals and protein. These
foods are also higher in fat and carbohydrates, and may
contain preservatives and other chemicals that add to the
shelf life of food, but not necessarily its nutritional
value.

Acid Reflux Recipes

When acid reflux becomes a regular part of life, the sufferer
is commonly advised to change his or her diet. Try to avoid
citrus, Try to avoid acids. See if changes make it better. So
you try. You experiment. And all the time, you're wishing there
were acid reflux cure recipes.

You finally go looking for such, and you find that there are
cookbooks that focus on eating to avoid acid reflux. The
trouble is that neither you nor your doctor can say for sure
that your current diet is the problem. You hate to put out
money for an acid reflux cookbook only to learn that your acid
reflux stems from another cause. You'd like to find someone
that inserts one little word in the phrase acid reflux cure
recipes.

Acid reflux FREE cure recipes!

If you could just find acid reflux free cure recipes, you would
try them. If it turned out that they did help, you wouldn't mind
investing in one or two good acid reflux recipe cookbooks.

The author can't take space here to give you a collection of
acid reflux free cure recipes, but let me contribute to your
search.

Acid Reflux Free Cure Recipes

Acid reflux free cure recipes have three things in common.

1. They eliminate or reduce portions of those foods that are
typically difficult to digest.

2. They include or increase portions of those foods that are
known to aid in digestion.

3. They are FREE!

Orange juice, for example, is acidic. Many people claim that it
increases acid reflux. So replace breakfast orange juice with a
ripe banana, which is easy to digest. Or opt for an apple.

Brownies and donuts are considered foods to be avoided by acid
reflux sufferers. They tend to sit, undigested, in the stomach.
Choose an easily digested dessert such as a fat free cookie or
jelly beans.

Acid Reflux Recipe Ideas

Here are a handful of ideas for acid reflux recipes.

1. Waldorf salad, made with ripe, healthy apples, nuts, and
raisins, is a good acid reflux cure recipe. Use any traditional
Waldorf salad recipe, but substitute low-fat mayonnaise and sour
cream. You will have a great-tasting salad that contains no
recognized acid reflux trigger foods.

2. Beef stew is another great acid reflux cure recipe. Use any
beef stew recipe you like, omitting the onions. Cut the fat
from the beef. If the stew seems to trigger acid reflux, eat a
smaller portion next time.

3. Gingerbread is a marvelous dessert for acid reflux
sufferers. Find a recipe that uses canned pumpkin and wheat
germ. Make it with unsweetened applesauce and low-fat
buttermilk. Then resist the temptation to mound whipped cream
on top of it! Try a low-fat imitation whip instead.

4. Roast turkey breast is a good main course. Cranberries
should be fine with it. Serve the potato baked instead of
mashed.

5. Lowly meatloaf is thought to have no specific acid reflux
triggers.

6. Spaghetti may cause acid reflux in some. You can reduce the
possibilities by beginning with acid-free tomato sauce. Omit
garlic and onion from your sauce, and try using more basil and
less oregano. There are a number of Italian spices that are
great in spaghetti sauce. Try fennel with basil.

7. Cheesecake, too, can be an acid reflux cure recipe. Make it
with reduced fat or no-fat cheeses. Use egg whites and/or egg
substitute.

While trying your acid reflux free cure recipes, learn what the
actual cause of acid reflux is. You may be surprised to know
that it is a muscular problem. There may be things you can do
other than alter your diet.

CAUTION: The information presented here is for educational
purposes only. If you have ongoing acid reflux problems, please
see your physician for advice.

Different Types Of Vegetarians

Many people think of vegetarians as one homogeneous group that just doesn’t eat meat. But nothing could be further from the truth. There are different categories of vegetarians as diverse as the reasons for going vegetarian in the first place.

A vegetarian is generally defined as someone who doesn’t eat meat. But someone who is vegetarian could conceivably eat dairy products such as milk, eggs and cheese. A lacto ovo vegetarian doesn’t eat meat, fish or poultry, but does consume eggs, milk or cheese. A lacto vegetarian consumes milk and cheese products, but doesn’t consume eggs.

A vegan is someone who doesn’t consume any animal product or by-product, including dairy food. They eat only vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains and legumes. They also don’t use animal products, such as leather. Vegans also don’t use white sugar because it’s often processed with a substance derived from animal bones that whitens the sugar.

There are other categories within the vegetarian community. Fruitarians, for example, eat only fruit. Their rationale is that fruits, including fruits such as tomatoes, are self-perpetuating and don’t need to be planted to create the food source. They consider it a way of eating that’s most in balance and harmony with the earth, the most natural.

All of the above will eat cooked vegetables, fruits and legumes. There is also a growing movement towards eating only raw or living foods. This based on the assumption that cooking food processes most of the nutrients out of it, and to get all the nutritional value, vitamins and amino acids from food, it’s best consumed raw, or juiced. If cooked at all, it should only be cooked to slightly over 100 degrees, so the nutrients are still retained.

The more restrictive you become with your diet, however, the more educated you need to become to be sure you’re getting all the necessary proteins and vitamins that you need to maintain good health, especially muscle and heart health.

Foods That Boost Metabolism

Foods That Increase Metabolism
by Andrew Bicknell

In the never ending battle to lose weight people have tried all
sorts of calorie cutting diets, energy boosting pills and the
latest “Fat Buster” exercise machine seen on late night TV.
During this quest to burn off the fat they come to realize that
maybe what they are doing is not working as well as advertised.
The reality is that if we give our bodies the nutrition that
they need by eating healthy nutrient dense foods we’ve already
won half the battle.

What happens when we eat healthy nutritious food? Our bodies
respond by increasing our metabolism, which in turn burns away
extra fat. Now while this is rather simplified and loosing
weight can require a little more effort as far as exercising
and eating right in a nut-shell this is the first best step to
loosing excess weight.

One of the first things we must understand is how our body uses
and stores energy. Our bodies get their energy from the foods we
eat but that energy comes in many different forms. We can get it
from protein, carbohydrates and fat and there are different
forms of these as well. It’s how our bodies use these various
forms of energy that affect our metabolism.

In the case of fat our bodies have very little trouble
converting them directly into fat stores for future use.
Because fats tend to get sent directly to fat storage the body
uses very little energy, or calories, accomplishing this. This
is also true of simple carbohydrates, usually in the form of
refined sugars, found throughout most of our diets. The body
not only uses very little energy converting these refined
sugars into fat the huge amounts of sugar the average person
eats causes the body to release larger amounts of insulin to
deal with this sugar overload. These higher insulin levels
stimulate our appetites to eat more and increase the rate at
which we store excess calories as fat tissue.

Foods that increase metabolism include those foods that are
high in complex carbohydrates and proteins. Why? Because
complex carbohydrates and proteins require more energy for the
body to break down and use. This results in extra calories
being burned just for the sake of digestion and cellular
metabolism.

Foods that are high in complex carbohydrates also help to
increase our metabolism in another way. Because complex
carbohydrates take longer to break down by the bodies digestive
system the release of the caloric energy is spread out over a
longer period of time. This results in less insulin being
released into the blood stream and a more balanced energy flow
during our waking hours resulting in less snacking on sugary
sweets. Sugars and fats on the other hand tend to cause energy
spikes followed by a low period during which we are tempted to
eat more of these fat producing foods to re-energize ourselves.

Most of the complex carbohydrates we eat come from fruits and
vegetables. Fruits and vegetables can help increase our
metabolism in one other way. They are high in fiber and our
bodies’ burn more calories digesting fiber then just about
anything else. In fact it is theorized that many fruits and
vegetables fall into the “negative calorie” categories of
foods. A negative calorie food is one that actually takes more
calories to digest then it actually contains. The resulting
increase in metabolism from eating negative calorie foods can
help burn away excess body fat stores and result in a gradual
weight loss. When combined with a moderate exercise program the
weight loss and metabolism increase can be even greater.

As you can see the foods that increase metabolism are healthy,
nutrient dense foods. Steering clear of processed foods and
refined sugars is key to not only increasing metabolism but
also living a healthy fat free life.

My Top Website Traffic Generation Techniques

My Top Website Traffic Generation Techniques
Copyright 2006 By Willie Crawford

I recently conducted a 2 1/2 hour teleseminar that I entitled
"Website Traffic Generation Techniques That Work." I conducted
the teleseminar for two reasons:

1) I was partnering with two esteemed clients/friends in
creating an in-demand product. Our combined knowledge and
experience guaranteed a website traffic generation product
better than any similar product that I'd seen recently!

2. I was tired of seeing so many people with websites getting
practically ZERO traffic when it is so easy. I wanted to
explain to my subscribers and clients, in a plain-English
fashion, some very effective but simple methods of getting
visitors to their websites.

My websites currently get so much traffic that, while we
could always use more traffic, I no longer worry about
getting website traffic. I've reached what my friend Jack
Humphrey termed critical mass - that point at which one
could actually stop promoting for a while and the traffic
would continue.

When you look at website traffic generation - big picture -
it's just a matter of identifying where your ideal traffic is,
and "standing in front of it!" Here's are just a few ways
that I do that. We covered many more in the teleseminar.

These are all fast and easy to implement:

- Article Writing - Write 300 - 1000 word articles on topics
that your market cares about. Make sure that the articles
address a problem, worry or challenge that your market
faces. In the article point them to solutions that they can
find on your website. It's that simple.

- Affiliate Programs - With an affiliate program, you have
others send you traffic, and you don't spend a penny until
that traffic converts into sales.

You can set up a simple affiliate program selling an ebook
through Clickbank or PayDotCom.com and have an army of
people working hard to send you customers in no time.

If you don't have a product, you can take private label
products, and with a little effort, create products that
your market will be clamoring for, and that affiliates will
be thrilled to market for you. The best duplicable SYSTEM
that I've seen for doing this was developed by Louis Burleson.
You can learn all about Louis' easy to implement system at:
http://NoHypeInternetMarketing.com/TheKey/

- Ebay Sales - With over 100 million registered users, Ebay
is simply too big to ignore as a source of traffic. The most
important thing about that incredible number of Ebay users
is that they are buyers. They visit Ebay with credit card
in hand, and all you need to do is be there with the
products that they are looking for.

By some estimates that I've seen, Ebay gets MORE searches
per day than Google!

There are dozens of ways for you to lure some of those
millions of visitors to your website. Ebay even makes
it easy for you to sift through their database and see
WHAT the most common things are that people are searching
for. What could be easier? You sift through their database,
determine what lots of their users are searching for and
then create simple information product that cater to those
concerns. Then you advertise on Ebay, extremely
inexpensively, letting people know that you have the
solutions over at your website.

- Organic Search Engine Traffic - This seems mysterious
or difficult to many people. However, if you understand that
people visit the search engines seeking solutions to their
problems, then it's as simple as determining what problems
a lot of people are searching for solutions to, creating
solutions to those problems, and then making people aware
of the solutions through content on your site.

As an example, this article addresses the massive problem
of most websites not having enough traffic. It tells them of
the solutions offered on my site, and finally the article
facilitates the search engines telling searchers that
my site is where they'll find the solution. I'll feed this
article to the search engines through my article distribution
channels.

- Social Networking Sites - Sites such as MySpace, Youtube,
and dozens of bookmarking sites, get millions of users
every day. MySpace rapidly grew into the sixth most
visited site on the Internet.

MySpace users set up accounts and conveniently categorize
themselves into interest groups. Using very simple techniques,
you can redirect massive traffic from MySpace to your
website. You can also build your mailing list by interacting
with targeted niches on MySpace. The other social networking
sites function similarly.

- One of the easiest ways to get massive, extremely targeted
traffic is through joint ventures. Through joint ventures,
you get those who already have the attention, trust, and
loyalty of the traffic, to send their traffic to your
sales page. This is totally risk free and one of the
easiest and fastest ways to grow a web business.

Through organizations such as The International Association
Of Joint Venture Brokers (IAJVB), you find large list owners,
product owners, or joint venture brokers. You set up huge,
mutually beneficial partnerships, and leverage your combined
assets. You can get more information on using IAJVB at:
http://TheInternationalAssociationOfJointVentureBrokers.com

In the teleseminar, we also covered generating an endless
flood of highly targeted visitors through methods such
as publishing a newsletter, blogging, creating viral ebooks
and software, creating educational or entertaining multi-
media products, etc. We showed that there as so many
ordinary, easily-implement traffic generation methods that
there really is no reason for any website to suffer from
a lack of traffic.

Actually, I'll retract that statement. Your website does
have to be about something that people are interested in.
There does have to be enough people in the world interested
in your niche to offer you a pool of people that you can
"stand in front of."

I've just shared with you my top website traffic generation
technique. Now all you need to do is implement them. You can
discover many more by listening to the MP3 recordings or
reading the PDF transcripts from my recent teleseminar at:

Diabetes Care Begins With Apt Diabetes Diet!

Diabetes Care Begins With Apt Diabetes Diet!
by Ashish Jain

Diabetes people are special people. They need a special diet.

Diet is one of the most important part of your diabetes
treatment. Perhaps, more important than the medicine itself.
For, if you take proper medicines but neglect the diet, the
result would be counter-productive!

It is no exaggeration if you (being diabetic) are advised to
take care. Maintain the desirable body weight. Shed it, if in
excess. Maintain the level, if you are underweight. Always
remember, your blood glucose level should be normal.

The disease diabetes has a team behind it. Blood vessel
diseases and heart problems await in its wings. So always take
necessary care.

You have to understand your body and health related matters in
the proper perspective. You have the services of two
doctors—yourself and your family doctor. Both of you have to
live like good friends. You have to follow his advice and he
will of course understand your difficulties.

A doctor and a dietitian become the permanent friends and
advisers of a diabetic patient. You have to understood yourself
in a better manner by trial and error methods.

In all the major cities there are Diabetes Associations, who
conduct useful services such as conducting camps, holding
seminars and discussions and arranging group meeting. They also
publish bulletins containing useful and encouraging information.

What you eat is important. For a diabetes patient, how you eat
what you eat is also important. Instead of eating one or two
heavy meals, it is better to take small quantities of food,
several times in a day.

You have perfect understanding of your system, it is okay. But
your doctor knows it better. As for the diet, only follow his
instructions. That is your role. Do not go by ideas. He knows
the facts. Don't be in a hurry to lose weight, though it is
very important. If you lose two pounds in a week, it is ideal.
Don't be panicky about the weight loss subject.

Fruits, seasonal vegetables help you a lot. Oily stuff needs to
be avoided at all costs. Much more fiber must go into your
system.

There may not be a permanent cure for the diabetes—but the
permanent care can not be avoided. Unfortunately, you have the
stamp of diabetes on you! So, take care.

Treating Diabetes With A Healthy Diabetes Diet

Treating Diabetes With A Healthy Diabetes Diet
by Mark Fazoli

Diabetes is a disease that is well known for elevated sugar
levels in the blood. These elevated sugar levels develop when
an individual has abnormal metabolism. This abnormal metabolism
may prevent the pancreas from making enough insulin to remove
the sugar from the blood. Although diabetes is known as a life
long disease, it is one that can be managed and treated
overtime.

When it comes to seeking treatment for diabetes, a diagnosis
will have to be made. This diagnosis most commonly comes from a
professional healthcare worker. Although it is best that
diabetes is diagnosed by a healthcare professional, you are
still advised to be on the lookout for common diabetes
symptoms. These symptoms may include fatigue, frequent
urination, frequent fatigue, and nausea. In the event that you
display any of these diabetes symptoms, you are urged to
schedule an appointment with your primary care physician or
another healthcare professional.

Once your primary care physician has been altered to the
display of diabetes symptoms, it is likely that he or she will
run a number of tests. These tests include a wide variety of
different urine tests. If you are diagnosed with diabetes, it
is likely that you will receive either a diagnosis of type 1
diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes, although it can
develop at any age, is more common among children. Type 2
diabetes typically develops in adulthood; however, like type 1
diabetes, a diagnosis can occur at any stage in life. While
type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are the most commonly
diagnosed, there is another form of diabetes known as
gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes is form of diabetes
that develops during only pregnancy.

As with many other health issues, diabetes has symptoms that
can make it difficult to go about your daily activities. These
symptoms, also mentioned above, commonly include frequent
urination, frequent fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and a frequent
feeling of thirst. These symptoms are why it is important that
you seek medical assistance, when they first begin to display.
This is especially important if you notice that your diabetes
symptoms are making it difficult to go about your daily
activities. This difficultly may not occur on a daily basis,
but it important to make a note of all of the instances where
it has. This may help your doctor to better develop a treatment
plan.

Unfortunately, with diabetes, there is no cure. Although there
is no cure, there are ways that your diabetes and be managed
and treated. These treatment options typically are used to try
and stabilize the sugar in your blood. This is often by done by
changing your eating habits, developing an exercise plan, or
with the injection of insulin. All of these treatment options
are important and effective, but your diabetes diet is perhaps
one of the things that you should be most concerned with.

When it comes to understanding a diabetes diet there are many
individuals who focus solely on the foods that they eat. These
foods are important and, in many cases, lifesaving or life
threatening; however, there is more to a diabetes diet than
just the food that you consume. The time in which you eat your
meals may be just as important as the food you eat, especially
if you have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Developing an
effective diabetes diet plan, one that includes healthy foods
and established eating times, is one of the best ways to treat
and manage your diabetes.

If you have any questions or need assistance, when it comes to
developing a diabetes diet, you are advised to seek
professional help. That assistance may come from your primary
care physician or a registered dietarian. Whatever type of
assistance you seek, you should be provided with valuable
diabetes diet information that should last be able to last you
a lifetime.

Restaurants And Food Allergies...a Problem?

Restaurants And Food Allergies...a Problem?
by Verona Raymond

Why don’t restaurants know what ingredients are in their food?

I have been allergic to dairy products among other things for
quite a few years. So when I visit restaurants, I always
politely request “no cheese, or sour cream.” The next thing you
know I get an entrée with a cream sauce on it. Most food servers
don’t even know that this contains dairy products!

Since the menus are never explicit about exactly what the
allergen ingredients are in the entrees, I will ask the food
server if a certain dish has dairy products in it if I’m not
sure. Sometimes I’ll ask if it contains something else I am
allergic to. They automatically look at you like you are the
pickiest person on the planet! Then I have to explain that I am
allergic to dairy products and other certain ingredients. They
will get a concerned look, and tell me that they will talk to
the chef to find out what is in the entrée I am questioning.

They usually come back to the table and explain that the chef
doesn’t know what is in some of the sauces or ingredients
because they are sent to them pre-packaged or bottled. So I
sometimes take a chance and order an entrée thinking that it is
okay. Even tarter sauce for fish sometimes is made with sour
cream, even though I like it made with mayonnaise and I’ve had
to stop eating it after trying it out.

One time I ordered dinner that I was allergic to unknowingly
and immediately I started getting a reaction and had them take
it away, I then just ate the bread that came with the meal. I
was very pleased when they took my order off the bill, but it
could have been avoided in the first place if they would have
been more knowledgeable about the ingredients.

I really appreciate the fact that it is now mandatory that the
allergen ingredients are listed on most all types of products
in the grocery stores! Especially when the label plainly states
that the product contains milk, instead of having to read
through the long list of ingredients that often list milk as
“whey” or “casein.” When you are allergic to dairy products
especially, it is always wise to learn the different terms for
dairy because not all products are plainly written on the food
labels. Some products say “dairy free” on the front label but
the ingredients label lists casein, so the labels need to be
checked thoroughly.

While we are on the subject of food labels with allergen
information, a thought comes into my mind (okay…I’ve been
thinking about this for a long time!) Why aren’t restaurants
required to list the allergen ingredients plainly on the menus
next to the entrée description? Are we allergy sufferers asking
too much?

I guess if I didn’t have food allergies, I wouldn’t really care
whether the restaurants did or not. But if a person does ever
experience what it feels like having an instant food allergy
reaction or some of the “soon to follow” reactions, they would
really want this information on all restaurant menus.

How extremely nice it would be to not have to bother the food
server, and have a dinner where I wouldn’t have to be worrying
whether or not, I am going to pass out, have difficulty
breathing or worse!

Food allergies are more and more common everyday. I am for
getting this valuable information on all restaurant menus! When
will this happen? Soon I hope.

Diabetes And Society

Diabetes And Society
by Celia Namart

One of the things most people do not know is that there are
several different types of diabetes, and that diabetes is a
disease that will stay with you for the rest of your life,
there is no cure from diabetes and that means that once a
person is informed that he has diabetes this condition will
follow him for the rest of his or her life.

Coming to terms with the fact that one has diabetes may be
psychologically difficult sometimes, especially if the person
has no experience with long and difficult diseases and
illnesses. The mental strain and the difficulty of grasping the
new situation might sometimes cause a state of confusion and
anger, denial and expressions of mood swings. While this is all
normal and understandable an adult behaving in such a way may be
problematic to explain to young children or even friends and
colleagues.

As in all other difficult situation that family and close
friends can always be a source of great comfort and relief, and
if you can find some people who also discovered in later stages
of life that they had diabetes that will help too, the idea of
companionship between patients of many diseases can help the
patient realize that there are ways to deal with the news and
that people have done that before him.

Dealing with the discovery of diabetes is not as crashing as
other fatal diseases that we know about and hear about on a
daily basis, but for a healthy individual this may come as a
complete shock, and any person that is not well informed abbot
diabetes to begin with may take this as a devastating
realization. It is important to stress that diabetes is
something that you can live with and that there is increasing
awareness around the world about diabetes patient and their
needs, as well as the medical attention that diabetics require.

The fact that there are three different kinds of diabetes
should make it clear that everyone needs to know about diabetes
since it is not an illness that is limited to young age only,
diabetes can be discovered later in life and the risks
associate with the lack of treatment for diabetes is high. The
lack of knowledge about diabetes causes future patients to
panic or be o relaxed about their condition, which is in both
cases dangerous to their health.

To summarize what has been said in this article so far, the
discovery of diabetes in a later stage of life can be a shock,
the family and friends should try their best to support the
diabetic and to help him or her to realize that this is a
disease that requires daily attention and that is potentially
dangerous if not treated properly, overall the level of
awareness in the general public to the diabetes disease and to
diabetics in general should be addressed and any individual
should try his or her best to explain the dangers of the
illness to others not only to increase the awareness but also
to try and improve society treatment of diabetics.

Crab Info

Crab Info
by: Pat Murphy

Crabs are probably the most popular crustacean in the dinner
table. They are succulent and delicious but don't cost an arm
and a leg like lobsters. These shelled delicacies are found and
eaten worldwide with distinct taste and preparation, depending
on the locale. But because of their intimidating appearance,
most people are wary of buying and preparing these tasty
crustaceans at home. It's a pity because these crustaceans are
very versatile. Whether steamed whole, made into sandwiches,
boiled in soups, or fried like crab cakes, these shelled
goodies never fail to satisfy.

To ease this intimidation, it helps to know important facts
about this particular seafood. These crustaceans are decapods
with bodies made up of carapace or hard shell. These hard
shells are their exoskeletons. These crustaceans shed their
shells regularly through a process called moulting. The
moulting process defines the difference between soft shells and
hard shells. For example, Alaskan crabs are big but if caught in
the early moulting stage, their shells are brittle and soft.
Hard shells are developed as the new shells mature.

It is very important to buy live, fresh crustaceans. Buying
them dead can cause poisoning and other digestive problems.
Choosing fresh crustaceans means looking for signs of life.
Aggressive and active crabs are preferable over those who can't
even crawl. Intact crab legs are also indications of health.
This means that the shelled critters were not handled roughly.

Cooking them is also a very easy process. Even cooking
weird-looking claws of stone crabs is a cinch. Just steam, pick
out the meat, add lots of butter, and a dash of lime juice. This
technique also applies to whole critters. As soon as the
critters change their color into bright orange, take them out
of your steamer. This steam and butter method applies to all
species of this succulent seafood, but not recommended to the
little ones. A small crab like a blue crab is better if it is
deep-fried. This makes for a crunch shell and juicy meat
inside.

Crabs are special delicacies. But what makes them special is
not their price tag. They are special because they require
effort to buy and prepare. The people who will partake of your
crab feast won't mind if they got a big or small crab. It won't
matter if you serve crab sandwiches or crab cakes. The effort
you put into cooking them will make the critters taste as best
as can be.

The Power Of Cinnamon

The Power Of Cinnamon

More than 170 million people throughout the world suffer from
diabetes and the number continues to climb. Could it be that
many of these people could benefit from an easily accessible
product such as cinnamon?

This spice, which most of us have in our kitchen, has been
shown to have the power to cut blood sugar levels nearly as
much as statin drugs!

The magic ingredient in cinnamon is believed to be a substance
called MHCP. The MHCP is thought to be the reason cinnamon
reignites the ability of fat cells in diabetics to respond to
insulin and dramatically increase glucose removal.

In addition, two new studies reveal new evidence for the
beneficial effects of cinnamon as an anti-inflammatory agent
and support earlier research of its power as an anti-oxidant
agent and an agent able to lower cholesterol, triglycerides,
and glucose, and improve the functioning of insulin.

However, before you run out and buy a case of cinnamon, keep
the following in mind. Eating mouthfuls of cinnamon straight
from the bottle may not be the best solution. Table cinnamon is
not water soluble, which means it can build up in the body with
unknown consequences.

Also, some of the beneficial qualities of cinnamon, such as
lowering total cholesterol, only occurred by taking the capsule
form. It is believed that a person’s saliva may have some
harmful effects on cinnamon.

Do not despair; there are still plenty of benefits if you don’t
have time to get cinnamon capsules. It is my guess that most of
us will just use the cinnamon we have sitting in the cupboard.

Just a half a teaspoon a day is all you need to get the blood
sugar reducing benefits. You can also get the effect by simply
soaking a cinnamon stick in your next cup of tea.

While many type II diabetics are finding a great improvement in
their health with cinnamon supplementation, the good news does
not end with help for diabetes. Many non-diabetics are
discovering the energy boosting properties of this wonderful
spice and use cinnamon as a daily energy tonic.

There is also speculation by researchers that cinnamon can help
people with pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is a disease
were unusual amounts of insulin are produced by the pancreas in
response to a cancer tumor. This causes insulin resistance in
the cells and prevents the cell from getting glucose. In
theory, researchers think cinnamon might help overcome this
resistance.

Insulin resistance may also be involved in diseases such as
Alzheimer’s according to some scientists. Studies are ongoing
to test this theory.

The powers of cinnamon cannot be denied and its help for some
diabetics and pre-diabetics has been nothing short of
miraculous.

Of course, this does not mean to rush out and gorge on cinnamon
rolls and cinnamon flavored pie. There is too much sugar in that
diet. The best options are taking capsules or sprinkling a half
teaspoon of cinnamon on what you normally would eat.

Don’t forget to inform your doctor before taking cinnamon as it
might have interactions with other medications.

Protecting Yourself From Identity Theft

The following article was in today's issue of the I-cop
newsletter. It's good advice in preventing identity theft.
The I-cop newsletter is only sent to members, but you can
get information on membership on The International Council
of Online Professionals at:
http://www.i-cop.org/ref.cgi?id=williec

Here's the article...

Guard Your Wallet

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to
refer to it someday. Maybe we should all take some of his
advice! A corporate attorney is said to have sent the
following out to the employees in his company.

PERSONAL CHECKS

1. The next time you order checks have only your initials
(instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone
takes your checkbook they will not know if you sign your checks
with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will
know how you sign your checks.

2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card
accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For"
line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit
card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might
be handling your check as it passes through all the check
processing channels won't have access to it.

3. Put your work phone number on your checks instead of your
home phone.

4. If you have a PO Box, use that instead of your home address.

5. Never have your Social Security Number printed on your
checks. You can add it if it is necessary, but if you have it
printed anyone can get it.

WALLET CONTENTS

1. Carry only, in your wallet or on your person, the cards,
checkbook, cash, etc. you absolutely need.

2. Do not carry a Social Security card in your wallet.
Memorize the number. If necessary, write the number on a piece
of paper in a manner that you can recognize it but another
person cannot.

3. Do not carry any record of account numbers. Memorize them.
If necessary, write the numbers on a piece of paper in a
manner that you can recognize it but another person cannot.

4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine:
do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know
what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and
phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe
place.

5. I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel,
either here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about
fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address,
Social Security number, credit cards, etc.

CREDIT & DEBIT CARDS

Unfortunately I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because
my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thief
ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a
VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway
computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving
record information online, and more.

But here's some critical information to limit the damage in
case this happens to you or someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards
immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and
your card numbers handy so you know who to call. Keep those
where you can find them easily.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where
it was stolen or lost. This proves to credit providers you
were diligent and is a first step toward an investigation (if
there ever is one).

3. But here's what is perhaps most important: (I never even
thought to do this). Call the three national credit-reporting
organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name
and Social Security number.

I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that
called to tell me an application for credit was made over the
Internet in my name.

The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your
information was stolen and they have to contact you by phone to
authorize new credit.

By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after
the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of
all the credit checks initiated by the thief's purchases, none
of which I knew about before placing the alert.

Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thief
threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It
seems to have stopped them in their tracks.

Forget "Thinking" Outside The Box…GET Outside The Box!

Forget "Thinking" Outside The Box…GET Outside The Box!

I happened to overhear a conversation the other day between two
men…

Young man has started learning about real estate investing. He
has read books and attended seminars put on by some gurus who
make more money selling information about real estate investing
than they do investing in real estate BUT at least he is taking
the initiative to learn more. This is more than most people will
do.

Old man owns his home. Young man wants to buy real estate as an
investment….apartment buildings, office buildings…that type
stuff. Old man has no experience in this area. During the
conversation old man says to young man…"are you doing anymore of
that real estate nonsense?"

By "nonsense" I know old man was referring to attending the "get
r*i*c*h quick" type seminars and not a condemnation of real
estate investing. BUT it came across as a condemnation of the
young man's process of educating himself about something new….
something that could improve his life and the lives of his
family.

Unfortunately, you probably have people like that in your life.
You may BE a person like that in someone else's life. People in
your "box" don't want you getting out!
